to Strengthen Connection Oriented Ethernet

London, 12th December 2007: Ethos Networks, pioneer in connection oriented Ethernet solutions today announced that it is joining the Carrier Ethernet Ecosystem, an industry consortium committed to helping carriers meet the exponential growth in metro area networks. Ethos Networks will bring its expertise in intelligent network traffic engineering, to the alliance to negate congestion on the Ethernet.

Currently Ethernet systems are under enormous pressure as new services such as Video on Demand (VoD), HD broadcasts and social media grow in popularity threatening to congest the delivery networks. Connection oriented technology managed to turn Ethernet's learning behaviour into deterministic & managed behaviour and creates a simple, low OPEX carrier Ethernet technology.

Ethos Networks drives connection oriented technology further adding deterministic end-to-end QoS and dynamic traffic engineering. Ethos allows carriers to maximise existing infrastructure to increase profitability by offering an unlimited range of services and guaranteeing Quality of Service (QoS) to consumers.

"Full service convergence of revenue generating packet applications at a low total cost of ownership is the main business challenge NG services face today." said Dr. Yuval Davidor, CEO of Ethos Networks. "This problem is compounded by the growing number of IP services carriers are looking to deploy. So, the steps taken by the Carrier Ethernet Ecosystem are timely and will help carriers address this challenge effectively.

"Operators will soon have the technology to operate a truly converged service over a simplied transport deploying PBB-TE where one network can have the all the bandwidth it needs to handle all the different services. Carriers will no longer need to compromise on the service mix, utilization, profitability or the number of new services launched."

"Ethos Networks participation with the Carrier Ethernet Ecosystem is a great indicator of the level of innovation being experienced in this market at the present time," said Mike Adams, vice president of strategy and architecture, Metro Ethernet Networks. "We look forward to working with them on comprehensive interoperability testing and demonstrating the power of these new capabilities in real life scenarios."

Ethos Networks recently raised an US$8m in additional funds from its current financiers and a new carrier investor. The company was co-founded by Dr. Yuval Davidor, Mr. Hayim Porat and Mr. Adam Dunsky and allows operators to realise the full potential of the Next Generation Ethernet.

About Ethos Networks
