Salzburg: International Summer Ballet Workshop, celebrating its 7th successful year… 10 July to 8 August 2011

EDAS-SIBA Ballet Workshop offers internationally recognized dance educators, ballet dancers from all over the world, classical ballet, point, variations, repertoire, modern dance, jazz, Nacho Duato choreography, and four public gala shows …

European Dance Art Salzburg (EDAS) 7th International Summer Ballet Workshop in Salzburg, the city of Mozart. We welcome young talented dancers ages 14 – 26, who would like to perfect their skills and technique.

Our specialty is to enable the young dancers to experience the life of a professional dancer in a company for the duration of 4 weeks, in which they learn everything about rehearsals, stage, lights, makeup, dress rehearsals and more, in addition to the classical ballet classes, modern, jazz and more.

One of the many goals of SIBA is to “polish” the dancer’s personal skills and most of all give them the stage experience they need, by producing 4 gala shows in different theaters in Salzburg and Munich. The gala performances are filmed and available on video for the students to use in their Curriculum Vitae.

From the moment the students arrive – they are a company. During this intensive summer ballet workshop the students live, eat, train and rehearse together – an experience for four weeks, a really exciting and unusual program. All under one roof, studios, dorms and restaurant, at the beautiful environment of Herz Jesu Gymnasium in Salzburg-Liefering on top of a mountain overlooking the city of Salzburg.

As our students come from more than 24 countries all over the world, they get the opportunity to meet other dancers from all over the world, learn other languages, dance methods and make contacts for life!

The slide show gives a good insight into the work of ballet workshop in Salzburg.

Registration for the International Summer Ballet Workshop 2011 is still open until mid-June 2011.
